About Janis Ploetz

Janis Ploetz is a seasoned professional in commercial real estate, marketing, and research, currently managing sales, marketing, and research for UrbanSA. With a deep-rooted passion for urban development and strategic growth, she brings a wealth of expertise to her role.

Prior to joining UrbanSA, Janis served as the Executive Director of ULI San Antonio, where she led the organization’s strategic initiatives to promote sustainable growth in the region. Under her leadership, ULI San Antonio became one of the fastest-growing and most engaged District Councils, with membership increasing by over 250%. She spearheaded membership engagement, program development, and stakeholder relations, ensuring members actively participated in discussions, initiatives, and educational programs focused on urban development, land use, sustainability, and real estate. Janis also fostered partnerships with city officials, developers, community organizations, and industry leaders, positioning ULI as a key player in the local community.

Beyond her leadership in ULI, Janis has extensive experience in commercial real estate, marketing, research, and education. She has maintained an active Texas Real Estate Salesperson’s license since 1983.
